Just had a conversation with service manager. He berated for not bringing JDM Evo to US and said that US will start offering an ECU replacement as an option to bring the horsepower to JDM specs He said he learned this from regional rep. Gave me his card and asked to call in a month once more details are available.

I wish Mitsubishi would adopt policies similar to Mopar and offer factory kits for performance improvements. The SRT4 "stage 1" is an example and it basically is a new ECU. It's cheap, too.

It sure would be interesting if anybody else could confirm the rumor you heard from your service manager.

 

Yeah, that rumor went around a couple months ago. At the time I asked my regional rep about it and he said he had not heard anything of the sort.
