I see you're in PA.. I'm with CBRD and we have a couple different Evo's available and that are coming available. Don't buy an Evo just on price. In this industry, you very much get what you pay for. You need to know the history on the car, or at least work with someone who knows how to look at an Evo and be able to know what was done to the car.. especially the tune on the ECU. Most car lots don't know and don't CARE to know how or why to do that. Buying a preowned Evo isn't an issue (well, it's the ONLY way to get an VIII or IX now)... you just have to make sure you know what you're getting.

Please let me know if there's anything we can do to help you acquire your new Evo. It's a fun experience (I know, I bought my IX on Friday!!! WOOT!)

I'll be PM'ing you very soon. I have cash in hand, plus financing approved through my credit union. I'm ready to make a purchase.

As far as any warranty goes I'd be surprised if it was worth anything if you needed something fixed.
I'm sure I'll be modding it, but that's most likely where all my extra cash will be going. I can't imagine having to fix the car.

Yes, I would definitely take it to the closest actual mitsubishi dealership, and schedule an appointment to have a tech check the car out... check fluids, compression test, leak down, etc.

I don't really like the IXs.... those little round holes in the front bumper look funny.

Craig,

That would be excellent. Many people on here know our company and how we treat our clients.

Don't worry, we aren't your typical "used car lot" and won't high-pressure you into making a decision. Our clients acquire Evo's from us because we are educated, but also, we take the time to educate them. Buying an Evo should be a fun and exciting experience... a lot of times at other car lots, it's not...

I look forward to working with you!

Caleb

sum guy gear yesterday was talking about a 05 ww with 21k on the odometer and got it for $18,000. Yea a steal. clear title aswell.

If it had an airbag deploy that means it probaly got a new dash or interior panels. it takes a hard hit for an airbag to deploy. alot more got replaced then just a fender my friend. i been doing major auto collision for about 6 years now.

Take the car to a shop that knows what they are doing with evos. Not the dealership.

I'd be leary of an 05 with 21k for only 18000... something seems rather odd with that...

hopefully it's a case of he got lucky, but most times, you get what you pay for.

Oh, and I have already test drove the car and do have an understanding with the salesmen.
Once you sign a piece of paper that says AS-IS then you cannot return a car under any circumstances. If you get a 30 Day warranty its usually through a 3rd party company and is usually only internally lubricated parts on the engine and tranny only. That means you would have to take it to a mechanic and use the warranty company, not the dealer.

Pull a carfax, tell them you wanna see the title (to see if its actual mileage and its not a salvage or rebuilt vehicle)

Thanks for all of the feedback. While still contemplating this Evo in question, I'm still looking elsewhere too.

There's a saying in Slovenia for deals like this one.

"I'm not rich enough to buy cheap".

Sorry about the late reply.
I took the car to get inspected after I bought it. I made sure it had the thirty day warranty though.

1) do more reasearch and this is not a great deal for 03 ( you are paying book value)
2) the car had an accident and you are not sure if the reparis were done properly
3) check all reports as best as you can ( carfax etc)
