EVO design flaw!!

Don't worry guys its something very minor but it just bugs me!!
Just yesterday I found out that if you goto your car and use your key to unlock the trunk and open it, the trunklight doesn't come on....But if you unlock your keyless entry first and then open the trunk, then the light comes on....

I have owned other Mitsu cars before and those never did that.

I just thought its very inconvient that they made it this way. Because sometimes I just need to get something out of the trunk and not having to unlock my doors first.

Just telling you guys what I found..

How is this pertinent? The car was meant to be driven hard. I could care less about minor user interface issues. Hell the whole interior is a design flaw. Which I'm willing to over look when I'm thundering down the back straight at Buttonwillow going 110mph, setting up to brake, toe and heel, and turn in.

Way-ell... I just walked out to my car (sitting parked and locked for the last three hours), stuck my key in the trunk and popped it open... the trunk light was on. Seems OK to me.

I knew someone LIKE you will reply with "oh, this car is for performance, blah blah blah.". Well I don't care what you think, I just know that if I pay 30k for a car, I would expect a little more than just performance........

Mine works fine, you might want to check the wiring.

Only problem, design wise that Ive seen on almost every EVO I've personally looked at (about 20), is that the right front fender sits differently above the headlight assembly then that of the left.

Then you should have bought a 3 series or an Audi. There's a reason an M3 costs 50k. And this car costs 30k. Details and luxury cost time to engineer and build.

Sell it now. I did.

Too many "little" problems with the Evo for a car costing $30k, regardless of how wonderful it is.

I paid $12k new for my CRX, and its run perfectly for 188k miles (and thats with some road-racing thrown in too...).

When my Evo started having rough idle problems, shifting problems, and other "little" things at only 1,700 miles, i knew it had to go.......

but i don't care, since i invested in an alarm for my 30k dollar rare automobile and have to disalarm it before opening the trunk anyway!

i suggest you go get an alarm, btw..

Who knows, you might not have any of these issues. Good luck to you.

My friend had a S2000 and it ran flawlessly for 45k miles. Man, what a fun car, great engine and light weight (well, for these days..). I gotta say, nothing beats the sound and instant response of a high strung NA motor. I would have bought one except i'm too tall.....

I'll accept some problems with a used car, 'cause you allways take a chance when you buy used. It's almost expected. But not when i buy it brand new. It was my first "new" car, and it will be my last........
