beside that...
i have a slipping clutch at ~6k miles gettin an aftermarket... aside from the slipping clutch... i have not other problems...
a trunk light can be easily fixed
i dunno about you, i'd take an evo w/ a bad trunk light over any other car in it's price range...
I'm so pissed my glovebox isn't refrigerated and how come my back seats don't recline like the Maybach 62??? Come on folks, if I hadn't read this post, I wouldn't have even noticed the damn trunk light. At least I know when it comes time to buy another Evo, I'll find the guy who worries about the stereo and trunk lights. That way I KNOW he never drove it hard...

Exactly... I think the real design flaw was underestimating the American enthusiast and leaving the S-AYC and ACD overseas...
Plus, I like the blue trim better than this pseudo-titanium thing in our cars... Any vendors that can get it for LHD cars?
Overestimating. I've been wondering about putting up a poll on what people purchased Evo's for? These are rally and road racing cars. Luxury?? Get Real? Daily Driver? It's a huge gift these these cars are so civil they can be used as such. Cool Factor.. Look at me I can't drive so I bought a car with so much more capability than myself I can run it into a tree at triple digit speeds before you relaize how poorly I can drive..
Why aren't people using there cars for what they are intended? These are perfect cars to learn how to drive in and save yourself the misfortune of being stuck off track while everyone enjoys a session.
Americans generally should stick with their low mpg escalades, annoyingly loud harleys, and blare their dennis leary ahole noise.
But hey what do you expect with our education system...

Hay - I got smert from publk skoolz ai'nt nuthin rong wif dem...
Seriously, automakers need to realize that while most Americans want a big floaty POS, there are about 10% of us that want nasty, serious cars and are willing to make the sacrifices required to own and drive them. So bring us the VX220 Turbo, TVRs, etc. We're ready!

I think Mitsu should do the opposite of what they do with the WRX. Instead of giving an SCCA membership with each car, they should require a SCCA membership or racing license from an accredited racing sanctioning body. NASA, NASCAR, WRC, Forumla 1, heh.
Leave the driving to the drivers.
Leave the driving to the drivers.
Well, that would have ruled me out - Ford did the same thing with the Cobra R in '95 and got stuck with speculators buying them anyway.
Back on topic, the biggest problems I have with the Evo are the paint quality (does it even deserve the word "quality"?) and the interior material choice on the doors. Instead of the mouse fur, at least put Alcantara (the suede on the seats). That small touch would go a long way. If I get back to Cali, I will probably go to Stitchcraft in Huntington Beach to redo the dash and doors in Alcantara. I am still trying to get the FQ-300 seats from the UK or maybe carbon-backed Recaros...
