Is there any way to tell what the car has been tuned for?

 

if he has a cable he can read his rom and send it to one of us

It definetly looks like meth, but that doesnt exactly mean that the car is doomed. Have some one check the car out, compression etc..

 

that sucks man. i didnt find anything as extensive as nitrous or meth previously hooked up, but i did buy my car used from mistu dealer that was "stock" but after putting on an intake i found lots missing bolts and other indicators that it had been modded...my 2 step was set higher and mine also revs to 8k. good luck with ur car tho.

 

I am leaning towards meth with out seeing the holes in the trunk you are talking about. On the plus side if you need an upper inner cooler pipe you should be able to find one cheap on here if you just want stock! As stated earlier, pull the IAC motor and see if the tip is burned or shows any evidence of heat damage. If it does PM me and I will sell you one a lot cheaper than the dealership will.

Is there a thread somewhere that tells all the different things to look for to find out if your car has been modded previously? Iv bought an 05 VIII that Im waiting to be delivered. Its supposed ot be stock but it has a Defi boost gauge in it.

This thread has me a little worried. So if anyone can give me a few pointers or point me to a thread that can thatd be great.

 

I don't understand why you guys are saying "thats whack or thats shady" when he bought it it had a boost controler and stuff so it was obviously modded. I don't see what the problem is. Most likely the previous owner parted the car out and traded it in. Why would the dealer be at fault here? It sounds like a consumer that didn't do his homework to me. Most of the people on here are awfully quick to judge....

 

the car runs great with no problems since the day i got it, will this car be scrap if it was running meth?

 

i just had a boost gauge installed and its running 19 psi

 

Do a compression test. Nobody will be able to give you anything but guesses until you find out if your engine is still healthy.
