I just bought an 06 MR about a month ago. So far I put a K&N drop in filter, everything else is stock. I want to upgrade the exhaust next. I'm looking for a louder/deeper sound and better looks than the stock exhaust. The extra horsepower is great too.
I've been reading tons of posts here related to exhaust options. Most people recommend to go with TBE w/ tune instead of catback. I want to know if a tune/flash can be rolled back to factory setting so the warranty is not voided? I will keep the stock exhaust in case I need to put it back on.
If i go with a Catback, then I won't need a tune.
What do you think I should do? What types of tunes are available?

get a TBE and get her tuned........

worst case just download your map now and then we you get it tuned saved that map as well....

that way you can always flash whatever map you might want on there....

you just gotta get ECUFLASH and the cable or you could have your tuner do the switching of maps for you....

but all in all too easy to even get worried about.....

 

So the dealer has no way to find out that the ECU was flashed if I switch the map back to stock and put the stock exhaust back on?

 

no they wont know
you wouldnt even need to flash back to stock, theres no way they can tell

 

oh and get TBE, catback will do nothing power wise

if you would get tbe and a tune, you would be pretty happy. plus you will get better gas milage
