I ran lots of straight leaded in my 91 TSi with no problems at all. I did however run a denso o2 sensor which is very resistant to the leaded fuels and never once had a problem. Maybe you might consider switching to that o2 sensor before going ahead if you are concerned about your stockers.

So if people are mixing race fuel with pump gas then would it be better for my car if I ran a good unleaded? It seems the highest octane of unleaded ive seen is around 100 octane...is there one out there around 105 or so?

What is BEST is to have your car tuned on whatever gas you are running, whether it is straight 93, straight 117 VP Q16, or 97 and 100 mixed 50:50 . . .
What is key is that if you are tuned for a racing map on high octane, you need to always run than exact same fuel to NOT kill your motor ASAP . . .

Oxygenated VP 109 was decent but not nearly as knock proof as 110 leaded mixed with 93. Running 100 octane for only $1 more per gallon is the reason I run leaded.

Leaded fuel with a cat is a definate no-no. Just don't do it.
However, I feel with leaded fuel that a properly tuned in car shouldn't have any major issues with the o2 sensors... providing the car is dialed in correctly.

Unleaded race gas is expensive and doesn't suppress knock like leaded fuel does. I've never really seen good performance from something like StreetBlaze 104.

I ran VP Ultimate 4 in my quad back in the day and saw the same improvement in oxygenated gas vs. non-oxygenated . . . same principal on why 8000 HP TOP FUEL cars make so much power. . .
BTW, E85 WILL KILL THEM ALL AS FAR AS PERFORMANCE FOR THE $$$ GOES . . . . . . . . . . .

I've been occasionally running a mix of 93 and 110 sunoco. With premium at
4.29/ gal and 110 @ 5.95/gal, its only $11 more a tank to run 100+ octane. Turn up the boost a couple lbs. and "hold on to your fn hat".
