Evo through car wash

I will probably get flamed for this.. but eh.

I work a ridiculous amount and commute quite a bit in the EVO..

there is a wash near me that does a wonderful job on cars, but it has the wheel pullers on it to move/push the car through an assembly type line.. it uses rollers i think.. the rollers attach to one side of the wheels.. (left side).

would this cause drivetrain damage if the car is in neutral? They don't let me wash my car at my condos and the nearest manual one is quite a ways away away.

Youre fine... I go through them every sunday to keep it nice and shiny =-)

Just make sure its not a gas station car wash, unless its a very busy one, they dont replace the clothes often and theyre usually pretty rough. The place i go to changes them every month and they don't damage the paint at all.

Cheers!

didn't know if there could be a difference of the wheels being turned or stress on the drivetrain components .. figure its a very slow roll <1mph so its just like pushing it.

better safe then sorry.. and yea this place is a pretty nice place

If you're in neutral, I can't see it as any different than coasting on a road in neutral, but make sure the rollers are wide enough for your wheels. I know some of these guys go with a wide setup and probably would have trouble going through them if they are narrow.

is there a touchless carwash around you? I took a car through a regular carwash while back, it scratched the ____ out of the roof... I only visit touchless washes now. As for drivetrain damage? Of course not.

try looking at other car wash that doesn't use rollers that would minimize the risk of scratching. i usually wash my car by hand but during the winter i go to a car wash that doesn't use the rollers and get the chassis wash to remove the salt.

watchout for your rear wiper. i had an itegra and the blade got ripped off. also what worries me about those places is the thin mitsubishi paint.
