Runny Yolk, i agree with you about the close intervals, my Alfa engine was changed every 1000. but i was expecting a valve timing and change of belt at 5000? so these hydraulics don't need servicing?
also, who did you buy from (in Austin) and who will service your Evo?

If you're referring to the timing belt, I think that gets replaced at 60k miles. I think that timing is adjusted also. Otherwise, if you're talking about a valve adjustment, I think that's just on a as-needed basis.

I got my car from Gillman on South IH-35. As far as servicing, I have yet to figure out which (if any) shops in Austin do good work on Mitsubishi's. Until something major comes up, I'm planning to do all my own servicing (fluid changes, brakes, etc).

Runny Yolks, last questions, and thanks for the answers, hope they are informative to others...what about mods..? would you do your own work, or is there a Wrencher or Mod Shop to go to? and what about the thread that mentioned the Stainless Steel brakeline and the Mod Shop in SA? sounded like a place to go for professional work..?

TO THE FORUM, i don't know why my first Post was doubled, doubled? redundancy i guess

We should probably move this discussion over to the south forum. I'll post here one last time in case anyone else cares...

I don't plan to mod the car at all until I've had a chance to take the car to a track and understand its dynamics. (unless you count a $15 ground kit). No sense changing anything if you don't know what the difference was. As with most other things, I will try to do as much work as a I possibly can on my own (but I'll definitely look for help if I am unable to do something). I don't know of any good shops in town, although if anyone knows of some shops in the central Texas area, that'd be great.
