Radio and clock stopped working
First of all, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I wasn't sure which one to post in. Also, I did a search, but the results of the search were less than useful, so I'm hoping I can get some more help here.
I was autocrossing my '03 evo 8 on Saturday and during one of my runs I hear the beeping noise my radio makes when the car turns off. It's an aftermarket Pioneer radio. I didn't want to look since I was in the middle of racing, but then forgot about it once I got back to the grid. When I was ready to leave I noticed the clock didn't turn on with the car, nor did the radio. Also my rear wiper would also not work. I figured I had somehow managed to pop a fuse and drove home in silence. When I got home I busted out the owner's manual and looked to see which fuse(s) controlled the radio. I checked all 3 of them (2 in the engine bay, one in the cockpit) and the one in the engine bay in the yellow thing was busted. So I switched it out with the dome light one in the same yellow piece. Start up the car and radio still doesn't work, but obviously now the dome lights don't work. Also my remote door locks only work when the car is running. Power door locks on the inside also only work when the car is running. However, now my rear wiper works.
Now tonight I checked EVERY other fuse I could see and they all were fine except the (now) dome light fuse which I will replace tomorrow with a new one. I even checked the fuse in the back of the radio and on my amp. My only guess is that both of those fuses need to be in tact for some reason, but I can't figure out why.
Just for reference, my ONLY mods are K&N drop in filter, Perrin MBC, Autometer boost gauge, Pioneer radio, amp & sub, and a Apexi turbo timer hooked up with the HKS plug n play wiring harness. Any help is much appreciated guys! Thank you.

Actually check the fuses with a multi-meter or replace them all. It could also be a wiring issue from the harness going into the head unit. I'd pull the radio out and make sure its plugged in all the way. The plug may have come loose while racing.
i have kinda the same problem... i was putting in a radio with the wrong adapter and fried something.. my radio, clock,or the lights for the heater controls, right front indicatior and back right tail light wouldnt work.. i took it to the dealer they switched one fuse and got my radio to work again and clock but not the lights.. so i had to rig a switch to the illum wire of the radio.. so when i turn lights on i got to switch a switch for my tail light and heater control lights to come on.... temp fix till i have time to figure it out

Well it seems the simple solution was the answer. I replaced both 10A fuses in the yellow piece in the fuse box and everything works. Radio, clock, dome lights, rear wiper, remote door locks, etc. Everything is good. I just can't figure out how I blew a fuse autocrossing....especially since the radio was off the whole time!
