One of the mitsubishi dealer told me that if I could put down a
deposit... he will be able to order one for me w/o affecting his
allocation...

is that true??
Any mitsubishi dealer on this forum?

I had this dilemma because the local dealer didn't have my color choice. Basically, if you have to order, then you'll have less bargaining power on your side of the table. You're better driving to find your car.

u have the same bargaining power on one out of stock as u do in stock as long as u are ordering it. if we have to dealer trade for it then u dont but otherwise call ahead then it is easier

I can only order a car while it is still in production. All the EVO's this year have been dropped and allocated so they'd have to be traded among dealers.

Funny thing is that the dealer would only give me the deal I want
if I order it... he wants a lot more for cars that's already scheduled
to come in....

He said that ordering it wouldn't affect his allocation... he would
simply be extra money for him that he doesn't care to make as
much as the other cars already coming in...

Doesn't really make sense to me.. but thats what I was told.

The thing is that I thought EVO's production already stopped???

False, He will not be able to order any EVO'S. He will only have what's coming to him already. He just wants to to leave a deposit so that he stops you from shopping else where and hopes that you end up taking what he does have or will end up getting...

Yes i am a dealer. We cannot or any. We can only get what has already been allocated to us. Only shot they have of getting on is by delaer trading. Even then most dealers will not trade, Because they want to keep what they have.
