Re Painting the OEM hood
Bird **** ate through my clear so I'm going to have to get the hood re-sprayed. What would you consider a good price for paint the stock hood with the same mitsubishi paint? I Got quoted fire hundred and thought that was a little high.

yes i've heard mitsubishi paint sucks but what else r u going to do. If you don't use oem and spray the hood it's not going to match the body. Especially when its a special metallic paint with some purple in the black. I hope i'm wrong this is only an assumption. My friend said he would re-spray it for 250 that includes paint as well. Is that a solid deal?

Yea my evo has almost 14k miles and the front bumper and hood have a bunch of rock chips. Im repainting both of them soon and then getting the 3m clear mask installed on the hood and bumper. Also im sure a good bodyshop can match the paint considering I bought touch up paint from paintscratch.com and it matches perfectly.

Its up to you but so far ive had no problems with the paint from paintscratch.com matching the factory paint but like I said before a quality body shop would probably get you the same results. Id like to see if anyone with a GG Evo ever had any panels repainted without using the oem paint to see if it matches good or not.

I just had my whole car repainted due to a hail storm. My body guy used PPG to match the color. He told me there were 5 different colors for that car. Base, more blue, more sliver, and a few others I cannot remember. But that was just for the 04 silver.

If you are concerned about using crappy OEM paint then just get a bunch of clear coats over the paint for that extra protection. That way you still get matching paint and you also get the extra padding from rocks.
