Very bad luck on my way to get my car tuned

today I made my trip to the Evo capital of the country good 'ol wakeman Ohio because I have a scheduled tune at Buschur Racing tomorrow.

First thing is I planned on towing my car up there by my dodge ram. But when I'm about to leave It wouldnt start. It has started the last few days in a row but today it simply was not havin it. didnt start at all not even for a second. I'm thinking it's the distributer but I didnt have time to work on it so I go to plan B

Even though I hate doing it I had to drive the evo 470 miles to Buschur racing. If I didnt show for my appointment there is a 300 dollar non refundable deposit so I didnt want to just wast 300 bucks. (the car is somewhat tuned I've added a ported head since the last tune). Well the car does fine for about 350 miles. but then I noticed all of the sudden when I switch gears I get a whining sound. it's only when I switch gears, once the car is in gear it is totally normal. also if I sit at idle with the clutch not pressed in it is fine and has no irregular noises. BUT as soon as I press the clutch in it makes that whining sound. also the car grinds going into 3rd. BUT 4th and 5th are mostly fine it's more of the lower gears. it's almost as if the clutch is not fully disengaging or something. MY clutch is an Exedy triple plate cerametallic BTW

Since I'm having this problem now I'm thinking I will have to leave my evo up here and fly back home.

I guess there is a bright side. there isnt any better of a place to have your evo screw up lol.

if anyone has an idea what my problem may be please let me know.

Sucks I gotta go into Buschur tomorrow and tell them my evo is ****ed up.

also if I'm in first gear about to pull out I'll let the clutch out slowly and it'll seem like its about to die but then all of the sudden It will catch and I'll almost chirp the tires even. the clutch is engaging/dis engaging real weird or something. ya'll wouldnt think this would be a transmission problem would you'???

I wonder if I can still get it tuned like this??? once the clutch finally grabs and the car is in gear moving then it acts JUST like normal. I guess I'll wait and get David's opinion on if it's safe to tune like that or not.

Wait until you fix your problem then get it tuned.

Your taking it to a great place where they can figure out the issue and fix it for you...then tune. Just have some extra cash ready

Id put money on the release bearing, seeing as how that your getting the same noise with the car sitting still also. It's probably more noticeable in the lower gear range because your turning at a lower RPM than you would be in 4th or 5th.

how about adjusting the peddle? I use to have weird noises too after installing my aftermarket clutch, but it was fine after adjusting the peddle

actually it went pretty good. the car was making a terrible noise but it did not hurt it to put it on the dyno . so I was able to get it tuned.

Nothing yet. I just got home last night. I'll probably take a look at it in a day or two. Until then I'll keep the driving to a minimum.

I'm just glad I was able to get it tuned. They were very cool about it up there at Buschur's

I did notice something last night though. when I put the car into 1st or reverse and had the clutch IN the car would still barely be pulling itself. anyone know what this may be??? I guess the clutch is not disengaging properly but what could cause this???

I appreciate ya'lls help
