I spoke with my dealer today and they told me that mitsu was going to warrenty all of the parts and replace the 5th gear and all neccessary parts related. they ordered the parts, performed the recall work regarding the ECU harness and told me they'd call me when the parts come in. lets just say, im extremely relieved with the whole situation and the service manager is going to get a real nice tip from me for staying "hush hush" to the mitsu rep regarding my mods. I'm a lucky mother

I'm not a mechanic so I may be wrong when I say that the synchros shouldn't be affected by horsepower i don't think they bare the load of the transmission. So the dealership did the right thing.

There seems to be alot of people thinking that the dealer must "prove the mods caused the problem." This is not true... Read the laws very carefully as well as your warrenty. Owning my own business and working with lawyers all the time I asked a lawyer about this issue before buying my OZ knowing I was going to mod it. Your warrenty states they do not cover damage done if the cars performance has been changed. (Doesn't say that the mod has to cause the problem...) These laws everyone keeps refering to cover things like changing items on the car like oil, plugs and other "normal" items with "like" items. Not "boosted" items...improving the preformance. These laws were writen to cover the everyday drivers. Not the ones who us who like to improve on our cars!

Trust me I hate these laws as much as the next man, but do you really think the same courts and laws trying to prevent us from "modding" our cars (by outlawing so many types of parts) will turn around and protect you from the "big Corp. bullies"?

Just food for thought from someone who's researched it alot!

i haven't dyno'd my car yet, so i'm not exactly sure what #'s i'm producing. i'd like to think between 280 and 300whp. i'm going to wait to put my car on the dyno until i get my cams and new front mount installed
