Vibration when turning
Vibration when turning
I was told by a mechanic in town that this is a natural thing, but ever since I got my new front differential installed when I turn or when I get on it there's a slight vibration coming from the front.. originally thought it might be a CV boot or joint of some kind that didn't get set back on right but wouldn't it do it all the time if that was the case?
If I'm in a straight line just driving it's perfectly fine. If I throw it in neutral and turn real sharp its fine, but if I have it in gear and get on it or turn while on the gas it vibrates.. hardly noticeable over the vibration of the exhaust but I can feel it. Is this something to be worried about or is it natural with a new differential, oh and my diff is a forged spider gear differential.. and the mechanic I took it to said that those are like limited slip differentials and that when you make a turn they speed up one wheel a little quicker to help pull the cars rear around or something like that lol! Anyway he said that it will even hop a little when in a parking lot making a sharp turn sometimes, I guess he said he had the same thing happen on his Evo.. just wanted to see if there was a consensus about this issue or should I still be worried and have someone check everything out for me?
Thanks,
- Tyler

My Evo also does something similar to that. IDK if its my driving or just the car since ive never owned an AWD turbo car other than my Evo and ive never driven any other Evo but when I start to take off and turn right away I get a little wheel hop sometime and when I do I press the clutch in right away to stop it and then I take off again and it doesnt do it. I guess that's what you can call it since it feels exactly like my Integra when my wheels would spin.
