WHEN i parked my evo in front of a part store and came out to see a group of people by it and wanting to know more about my car...i thought i be questioned the usual like horsepower and torque figures or turbo setup ect..but instead they asked me "how is the gas economy of this car?" "what do you get mile per gallon?" i was like wtf..lol..what has the world turn into...i guess now day is MPG>HP.... time to get a prius!!

I was just watching an episode of Top Gear where an M3 (one of the newer V8 models) got better gas mileage around the track than a Prius. I suppose it makes sense...the M3 didn't have to work very hard to keep up with the Prius (which was probably flat out most of the time), and really the only benefit the Prius would have is in stop and go situations.

But alas...I too am confused as to why someone would ask about the evo's gas mileage. Worse still, I recall a time at a local gas station where one of the only Vipers in my town was asked the same question. He was there filling it up (nice red convertible) when a woman asked "what kinda gas mileage does it get?"

His answer was very honest. "Terrible, gotta fill it up everytime I go out."

 

People often ask me about fuel milage in my Evo.

 

Someday people are going to relize something.... That americans drive.... We all were born to drive, Some of us drive faster then others, but in the end we all drive... The price will only get higher, and your pocket will get deeper, as the gas goes up so does the economy, Why drive some warp -5 car when you can drive a car that atleast breaks 1. Money comes and money goes, but excitment only comes at the cost of money. So in the end..... "**** it"

 

strange... regardless of how much gas goes up im keeping my 05 eb monster they just dont make cars like evos anymore. and for someone to get rid of their evo for a gas saver thats plain stupid.

 

The days of the high displacement/high horsepower factory cars is about to end. (ie,, SRT V8s, GT500s) Ford just claimed an 8.5 billion dollar loss and a spokesperson said they are looking into more fuel efficient cars. Gas prices are what they are blaming.

 

yea I astill get asked about milage too.

 

i just cut the corner and bought an 89 civic hatch as a daily driver muwahahah 35 mpg!! its got no power steering, no airbags, no abs.

it does have 5% tint all the way around, ice cold a/c, motor swap, full exhaust, intake, strut bars, coilovers, lol its a little beast and loud as hell but i heart it

evo has become weekend driver
