Escort Passport 8500 X50 problem.

Everytime my car goes into boost the laser feature goes off, obviously, as you can assume, this scared the **** out of me the first 20 times it happened. But for some reason sometimes it goes off EVERY time I go into boost. Other times it turns on and nothing at all. Anyone have any similar problems?

+1

Sounds like a short or something getting cross-connected or something. I too use the X50 but have never had a single problem with it.

I would try contacting Escort about it.

I have had one for like 3 years, suddenly about 6 months ago it started doing the same thing you decribed. I couldn't fix it so I ended up just turning laser protection off. Hope you find a solution.

Can't remember exactly how but it's in the manual/instructions.

typical issue if you have it resting on the dash. you can try mounting it higher, but the laser serves no purpose other then telling you you're going to get pulled over

Mine does that every now and then. Once it starts, it does it almost every time during that day. I have it plugged into the cig lighter, mounted in the middle of my windshield (not on dash).
