Please post in this thread to discuss how much your EVO is worth. Any other threads started on this subject will be trashed.

and now on with the show.
Well guys hate to do it but im selling my 03 evo VIII. hopefully trading it in but its not looking good right now. Went to the dealership today and they offered me 12k!! It only has 51k miles on it and is really good shape. They ran a carfax on it and it has a very minor damage report(which is less then $1000 worth of damage) from the previous owner in the rear of the car. Thats the reason they said their not gonna give me anything for it. But the car is flawless cant tell it was ever in a fender bender. what do you guys think about a value on this????
Thanks,
Kurt

What state is the car primarily driven?
How old are you?
Any mods?
What color is the car?
Accidents (how many, and costs/damage incurred)?
Garaged, Covered, or Sun Soaked?
When I have looked into buying used, I looked more at the person selling the car, than the car itself. I did this to gauge the future maintenance of the car, which in turn can offer some leverage in reducing the sale price. However, at 5 years old, time will begin to negatively affect just about anything that's not matallic/metal in nature.

Never trade in your car if you want to make more money.
Private sale will net you on average 3-5k more than what the dealership will give you.
If you have aftermarket parts, part them out to get some extra cash. Aftermarket parts do not add value to the car. Sometimes it might even detract from the value.
GL on your sale.

and where did i say it had frame damage it had a 5 mile a hour hit in the rear bumper bud no frame damage there.Didnt even dent the trunk.
I paid 18.5 for a '03 VIII in decent shape a few months ago. I may have overpaid a bit and had to DIY some stuff (bleeding brakes, they were horrible, also the windshield sprayer was hooked up wrong, trunk trim falling off, etc) but mechanically the car seems stout. If your car is cosmetically good I'd list for 19K and see what comes around.
