I have an 03 evo and until last month had never had a problem with the wing but it started cracking and splitting on the gel coat on top of the carbon fiber. I took to a shop and they said they could try and sand it down and spray some clear but he called today and said that its alot worse then he thought at first. So I am going to check today at noon. Is there anything else I can do to make this look right? Please if anyone has any helpful ideas let me know.

 

there is a how to on the forum... how to re-clear your wing.. it looks easy.. check it out .. this is a common problem with evo wings.. (:

how many miles are on your car? Did you try the dealer? My dealership (didnt even buy the car from them) replaced my wing free of charge ("good will repair") and I was well out of warranty. Dealership would be my first move. If they won't replace, then give the DIY a try.

 

i dont understand how bad it was, where the bodyshop couldnt fix it?
is it worse than this?
