You don't have to imagine!! There are plenty of B series and D series motors with turbo's on them and they do make good power. I don't understand what ^^^ you were thinking or what rock you have been under.. But they are every where. As far as great 4cyl engines the 4g63 is awesome as well as the B 18C that still holds the power per cylinder record as far as I know and the S2000 motor is great as well. But you can't compare N/A to FI its just not that simple.

Anyone who thinks that any of the honda vtec engines are better than the 4G63 are straight up smoking crack rocks. Honda engines make absolutely no power, and no torque, and when you apply boost to them, they break very easily. The 4G63 is 2.0L and 276 HP from the factory. Where else can you find this kind of power per liter? Although they do indeed work differently, Mitsubishi has already added variable valve timing to the 4G63 in the EVO 9.

Honda's 4 cyl engine are not classified as turbo 4 cyl like the Mitsu 4G63 so please dont even try to compare them two.

Try to find a mass production turbo 4 cyl honda engine and we'll do the comparos.

Mitsu underate the HP rating on the Evolution... the Evo 8 should be rate at 300-310 and the Evo 9 at 320-330hp. Dyno numbers proves it.

Are you freaking joking. They only have THE engine with THE most hp per liter ever built!!! Open your eyes slick and come out of the self induced comma your in.

I've heard it's underrated, but didn't know it was pushing so much stock.

Looks like subaru beat the BMW 2.5-litre 6-cylinder by one point. I don't think 4g63 has won the award as far as I know.

International engine of the year 2-litre to 2.5-litre catagory

What engine would that be? Honda never made any turbo engines (that I know of). Why can't you compare a NA engine to a turbo engine? An engine, is an engine, and specific output, is specific output. Lame, is lame, and honda engines are just that. They do indeed make quite a bit of power for a little rice burner NA engine, but I thought we were on the topic of HIGH OUTPUT engines, (i.e. forced induction). The subaru and porsche boxer turbo engines make much better comparisons than the little honda powerplants. Please don't tell me about your friends hack job rusted out, riced out, tractionless crx with a turbo kit, I really don't care about it, we are talking about factory specs.

This engine is one of the best its been around for over 10 years. The stock internals can handle 400-450whp no problem. IF u ask me this is the best engine out there

I would actually agree with however said that Honda probably makes the best 4 cylinder in the world. The 4G63 is a great motor but it's essentially the shotgun at the shooting contest, it uses brute force over finesse. It has a relatively large turbo pushing a relatively high amount of boost and it only makes 280 HP. You have some Honda motors that make over 200 HP with 1.6 L of displacement naturally aspirated. Some Honda heads flow better than motor 3 times their size. Sure they don't make gobs of torque or hit as hard as the 4G63 or EJ257 but from an engineering standpoint they're damn good.

he got some good point here.
but some of those honda engines i think are not as old as the 4G63 design. But i can be wrong on this one.
