What should I do?
Create a graph of how much money they will actually save on th gas bill from switching cars. It honestly will not be much and they might understand better and let u keep it.
But honestly dude just get a job. 50 bucks a gas a week is nothing. thats only 200 a month. thats like 20 hours of working a month. dont be a slacker

I just got 28mpg but that was babying it becasue i needed to get that much...then i hit the drag strip to release some agression haha...if they are looking for a car thats going to get 40mpg then the evo is not it but even 25mpg is really good for anything performance...save the speed for the strip and dont worry about the gas!
This is something that i came up with for you.
lets start with the given facts;
1. you dont want to sell your evo.
2. your parents pay for everything(assuming)
3. your family have 3 cars.
4. your mother doesnt drive too much
5. gas price is killing these days at your location
Now, possible solution,
Due to reason 2&5 = you pretty much have no authority to put your opinion on your parents' decision of the car
but considering the fact 1,3&4, why dont you suggest the idea of just getting rid of your mother's car? Your parents can always share a ride, Im pretty sure your father would love to do that with your mother(under the theory that your mother would not be going out of the house everyday). Oh well, thats what i would do. Also, given the fact your parents bought you an evo, abnormal car, already and have 3 cars already, your parents are well capable of willing to do anything for their kids, YOU. Try it, you have nothing to lose.
Good luck

Do the smart thing keep the even the Sonota is not gona be that much better then the Evo and it will be boring and dull!
THINK ABOUT IT

You parents should be the deciding factor in this case. THey pay for it...it's their car. They do what they want with it. At least they arent making you sell the car and walk. You are still getting another car regardless. You can get another evo later...it's just a car.
