What should I do?

Ok here's the deal, I drive an 06 IX, my dad drives an 06 sonata, mom drives an 06 expedition...my car gets the worst gas mileage. My mom and dad come up with the idea to get a new car...09 hyundai genesis. Here's the kicker...they want to trade my car in for the genesis which my dad would be getting and I take his sonata. What should I do? I love my car and it's an Evo for jeebus sake! But gas mileage and the price of gas really do suck. Thoughts? Opinions?

Do you have the pedal hammered whenever you drive? I'm quite satisfied with the mileage my evo can get if you lay off the boost and drive like a normal person. Considering all the performance it has to offer, I'm happy I can get around 25mpg driving on the highway.

Pay for your own gas, then they have no reason to complain.

Or, ask if you can trade in the Sonata on something fun.

Or, slow down and stay out of boost.

stay off the boost and your milage should improve alot, also you can tune for better mileage as well.

stay off the boost, easy on the pedal, like someone else said "drive like a normal person" even if there are a lot of a** holes on the streets.

Then it doesn't get better mileage. She just drives less.

Like others have said, the Evo gets reasonable gas mileage if you drive it out of boost. But then again, if you always drive out of boost, what is the point of even having an Evo?

I think you know what to do by your last statement at the beginning of this thread! "It's an Evo for Jeebus sake"! Gas prices are coming down. Don't make a hasty decision. You have a great car! You'd be going to a 'tin box' with no guts, or personalty! I say (if possible...) 'ride out the storm', your Evo is worth it! Can you park the Evo on weekends and possibly use your Mother's, or Father's car then? An Evo is an Evo! Good luck with your decision!!
