14 gallons.... HA!
Interesting. However, I'd like to mention that I specifically remember reading a thread where the thread starter had put in more than 14 gallons (something like 14.2 or more), and I believe he had scanned his receipt as well. Also, I remember looking at the pdf file for an Evo brochure from another country (I forget which one), and converting the fuel capacity from liters to gallons got me around 14.5 from what I remember, though I don't have a copy of that anymore.
Also, I live in Orange County in Southern California, and I filled up with my boss a couple days ago and Shell 91 octane was $3.77/gallon... though I'd like to point out that it's at a Shell that is generally much cheaper than any other Shell I know of within a reasonable range.

I actually don't know for a fact, I'm just going off what I've always heard and that all the soot, gravel, dirt, etc is at the bottom of your tank. Maybe things are different now, idk.
I always thought it was true, but then I read a long thread on it, on another forum, and eventually the posters, including some engineers, convinced me that it was a myth. I can't recall all the reasoning but it was pretty darn convincing. Similar to what you say, above, anyway.

I know you live in Georgia and I know you get 93 octane. But you having 93 rather than 91 as your standard premium octane has little to do with the price. The reason why I brought up the numbers was because generally speaking, California tends to have the highest gas prices out of the 48 contiguous states.
