I use hole plugs, I love wingless = less attention.

that looks like a straight up lancer trunk or Rs trunk. those window visors are an oem accessory. you can get them through the dealership or some places on line have them. they are quality mitsubishi. some people like to put on a rear window visor too but mitsu doesnt make those.

I agree with the others who have used the vinyl overlays....I have a ton of extra Silver vinyl overlays in my garage from a sheet I purchased at a local sign shop.

This is the best way, imo, to temporarily cover the holes left behind from the removal of the wing. Let me just say that my wing has been off a couple of years now using these vinyl overlays...I've replaced them a couple of times since...and have an entire sheet left...

Anyone needing APEX SILVER Vinyl Overlays...I'll be happy to send you enough for one application FREE. PM me...

Although this is a popular route to take, I'm not a fan. I've seen way too many jobs like this where the color simply doesn't match 100%, which is why I ended up going the route I did. Great of you to offer though, sir.

A lot of people remove the spoiler wing to make their evo look more "sleeper" style. Others remove it to simply ward off the negative attention that "big wings" often times get (i.e. ricer or racer).

For performance purposes the wing being off during straight line drag racing reduces aerodynamic wind draft force, which essentially makes the car shoot forward faster with less air pushing down on the rear of the car.

For driving that has many turns (especially high speed turns in excess of 60mph) the wing actually helps by producing downturn force in the rear of the car which seriously increases the ratio for better turning (if you don't believe me go on a freeway and take an exit with the wing off at 70mph and you'll power slide your car through the entire off ramp).

These are just my personal experiences and having the wing on or off for daily driving is nothing more than a personal preference. It's same as having a silencer on exhaust to avoid police tickets or having full turbo back with no silencer to be a bit more "badass".

Hope this helped a little. *Note: I'm no pro at tuning or anything of that sort. Just an everyday evo owner who spends his weekends playing around.

Actually well stated... Less the part about the off ramp. Let's not do that!

Sweet, I can barely tell that the car had holes in trunk. Nice looking wingless evo.

Dont take the wing off. The wing looks great. From the looks of it the plugging seems real simple and inexpensive. Repaingitn the trunk would be more of a hassle.

I have a vinyl cutter feel free to let me know you want me to cut some for you I am going to do this for my car soon so I will have the right size dimensions ready to go. I may also try a more triangle type approach, that looks really clean on black nice work
