oil change gone bad!

So I decide to change my oil today and I'm draining it into my pan and I drop the drain plug into the oil. I fish it out and go about my business and finish up the job. Well when I go to funnel the old oil into the container I find the crush washer sitting at the bottom of the pan. What I need to know is am I good with that off until the next oil change or should I just suck it up and change my oil again to put the washer back on the drain plug.....

You should be fine. Some peoples cars dont even have crush washers on them. If it does leak it will be very slow. Just checked your oil everyday for the first few days to see if the level goes down. When I bought my evo, It had no crush washer and I went through the first 5 oil changes without it and lost no oil.

if you can...put that one back on there until you can get a new one. Sometimes mine are crushed onto the threads, I can't get them off. I re-use them until it finally falls off on it's own. Never leaked on me.

Get some rtv and put it around flange on the bolt.
it will scrape off easily at the next oil change.

If you use a vacuum on the oil fill hole (shop vac with a rag covering the nozzle), than no oil will come out when the drain plug is pulled out. Old taxi drivers trick I seen before.

Why does this seem like such a bad idea...

It works on our race cars and they hold 5 gallons of oil.

hahaaha sounds like the time in high school when my buddy decided it would be a good idea to siphon his gas tank out with a shop vac. didnt last to long when the vacuum blew up

just uncrew the bolt out, put your thump over the hole, put the washer back on the bolt, and screw it back on. I've done this before and lost less than half a quart of oil. Or you can run it without a washer until next oil change.
