correct, 1 octane point is .1. If brand X claims that their octane booster will raise your octane by 8 points, you will go from 91 to 91.8.

There are octane boosters that specifically say "raises octane a full 3-7 numbers"(not points).

The only octane boosters that are worth anything on the market is Tolene and Xylene. It's pretty much race gas if you mix it properly

Not worth the price.

On a side note, with your tune, 9 times out of 10 you will make LESS power running a generous mix of race gas and pump gas, if your car is not tuned for the ratio like other members have said.

Fact: The higher detonation threshold of race gas is actually creates less energy as compared to a lower octane rating on the same tune. The increase in timing and boost is what gives you the performance increase over pump gas.

I've ran tolene in my Evo and it was much cheaper then race gas (110). I was able to pull out equal amounts of timing with the proper mixture and DLL the same.
I've also ran it in a Turbo BMW with no issues. If you buy it in bulk it's only about 4 dollars a gallon. Compared to the $6.00 plus for race gas.
