the reason why the US CT9A chassis didnt get a AYC. Because the environment regulations...
So instead the AYC , the they got the evaporation system.
Also only AYC equipped Evo in the states was sold through the dealers is a X.

If you want to know more about it. And learn how it works really.

Does anyone know if AYC uses the brakes or is it simply torque transfer?

Since most of the technical info has been presented already, I'll give you my real world opinion. I used to own an 04 VIII with no LSD up front, a viscous center diff, and an LSD in the rear. I now own a X with S-AWC, AYC, ACD, etc... The driving experience is totally different. My 04 handled amazingly and I couldn't imagine the X could handle that much better. But I was wrong. The X handles like no other car I've ever driven. There are always guys who don't like technology, but in the case of the X, even the professionals enjoy the AYC.

"There are always guys who don't like technology"

Those who don't have it. With that mentality we would be still riding horses.
Without saddle.

Thanks, Rob. I thought so as I'm getting pretty even brake pad wear at the track.
