if you could buy an Evo over again would you do it differently?

Hey guys, I have had my OZ for about 4 years not and was considering going the turbo route until I read the 17 page thread of depression started by Amby's dyno slip https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=279267
Now that I am coming to point where I can be serious about do work on my car, I read that it will be throwing money down a path which leaves me with more to be desired. It was at this point I finally decided to seriously consider an Evo and stop just dreaming.
Now that I have the inspiration of the post out, my question to you is: To a newly searching Evo buyer, would you buy the same Evo you did to begin with? As of now I am looking at Evo IX's (throw in advice of the IX vs MR too if you would like)
For a while this will simply be wandering around reading and gathering opinions as I am in the UK until Dec. but once I get back stateside I want to have my research done and my wallet ready.

Well I really wouldn't go by amby's dyno considering what he had done, including different compression pistons, with no tune... I think he would have made pretty good numbers with a turbo and a tune...Ok back on topic... Would you be tracking the car or just using it as a daily driver (To help out others giving responses) I've seen most ppl say the IX SE or RS is their fav... It just depends on what you are going for...
Tracking the car not very likely, maybe a few casual autocross weekend at the most. But more than anything a daily driver.
and Thunder, I guess with logicality I cannot see putting the money Amby did + turbo + tune into a 4G94 engine. An evo would raise the ceiling of what I would be able to do (and plus no one finances mods) :P

I would of had more downpayment, and been more patient instead of jumping into the first deal and getting to arroused at the idea of owning one which the sales rep notices!!!..

I bought mine used so I would definitely have purchased a new one. Also, WW over the Apex Siver I have now. Other than that, I could not be happier with my Evo. Where can you purchase this kind of performance for this price? ANSWER= NOWHERE.
