What Would You Do!?!?
get a stock clutch.
Screw ACT their stuff is weak!
Dont bother getting any other clutch unless you plan on drag racing or auto x.
If its a street car stick with a stock clutch. Trust me you'll thank me in the end.

the faster you pay a loan off, the higher your credit score will be and the better it looks of your credit record for when you go for a bigger loan. paying minimum balances is how the credit card companies make all their money off people. if you put something on your credit card and pay it off as soon as you get your bill, they make no money off of you. you drag out your payments for month, the interest builds and they make their money off you to go loan to the next person.
its not rocket science. paying the minimum wont hurt your score, but paying it off faster will help it

Sorry I was missunderstood. When you buy something on a CC and pay it in full the next month a this will not build your credit as fast as if you were to buy it and pay it off over a couple months obviously pay much over minimum payment each month. That is how you build credit fastest.
Who pays minimum payments
Who pays minimum payments

Man I drove 300 miles on a slipping clutch haha I lost 2nd gear ability on the drive to get it installed. Just baby the car and you will be fine. By all means don't put yourself in a bind for car parts.

not true. That is how you build credit. I have always paid off my balances in full. When you apply for any type of loan thats what they look for. Most important thing to remeber when building credit; is always pay your $hit on time
Your right its not rocket science
But you are still wrong and neither of you should be giving advice when you don't know what you're talking about, (not trying to be rude please don't take it that way). Credit is based off of revolving accounts and the ability to make payments on time period. If you get a credit card and use it then pay it off every month it will show a "0" balance which doesn't help your score, infact having the unused credit on your credit report hurts it by up to 10 points. Financially its a better deal because you are using their money at the time and when you pay it off like that there is no intrest. Just a lil' fyi

Bigger issue... not having enough reserves to cover repairs on an evo... living on 250$ for a few weeks is crazy not to mention you never said anything about rent...

This is what I have been trying to say all along and buy paying well above the minimum as in buying that $800 clutch and paying it off in 3 months is the best thing you can do to improve your credit

i live at home with my parents so no rent....i'm never their either its really only a place to sleep and eat food once in a while....there needs to be an Official ACT vs. Exedy thread.....throw the lovers and haters of each clutch and let them go wild!!!
My decision to get the ACT HDSS was simple:
1 - I got a new clutch disc and pressure plate for $350
2 - I don't want to have to shell out $500 to rebuild a twin disc style
3 - Not making the kind of power, and my car is not experiencing the type of abuse, to merit a twin disc.
I'll let everyone know how it goes on friday.

Well i've decided to wait and save my money....i'm gonna wait until i have the money for the install and i will order the parts and then i'm gonna wait another 2 weeks so when i shell out 700$ for install i will still have money in the bank...but i talked to a friend here in town that works at a local shop...he's a DSM guy here and he knows his stuff when it comes to DSM's hes been building and tearing them part for the past 10 years or so...right now he has a fully built talon with a GT35r setup...Shep built tranny....the list will go on and on....but i just figured i would have him do it at the shop he works at since he has experience with the 4g63 and AWD....i told him i was thinking about getting the HDG6 from ACT but he suggested to get the XTSS....the extreme pressure plate with the street dics...but he did say that is what he would recommend for a DSM and with my evo it might not be what you need....i'm still highly considering the ACT HDG6 for a couple reasons....1 it will be less expensive to rebuild then a exedy twin...2 the cerametallic material which has a higher heat resistant to the organic material that is used with the street disc....3 also i think that with the heat characteristics i think the six puck will have a less chance of lock out bc its more heat resistant so less chance of warping...4 a major thing...PRICE....so i think i will just be waiting it out and saving up, and ill look at some more reviews and just read up until it comes time to order
