the only way to switch maps is to use the tephra mod on the ecu. its not easy to set-up either.

Or: you just reflash it like normal, with a laptop and cable.

im talking about using a pump gas map as a failsafe....

your failsafe trips, it switches to a different map, your a/f's go to a rich conditon and protect your motor. and to do this you need a few parts and the tephra mod. best failsafe you can have. something that just cuts boost ie. snow, labonte, ect. will not offer full protection of your motor.

if your gonna do meth, do it right and do it safe

I purchased the Coolingmist meth kit w/failsafe and was unable to get things running right, so purchased the Labonte Motorsports and have not had one problem so far. Before this mod stage, I was running 26 psi and made 334 awhp. Afetr the meth, cams, head studs, I ran 26 psi and made close to 380 (342 on mustang dyno if I remember correctly) with the Coolingmist with the failsafe bypassed. Well the solenoid clogged up and I was running basically no meth through my intake. After boosting and hitting a 12.3 A/F ratio, I realized what went wrong. The good news- no damage to the engine at all. A lot of people run 30+ psi and that's taking a huge chance if something goes wrong. I think having a good tuner lowering the psi and tuned to around 11.1 A/F ratio might not make as much power, but its safer in the long run. Most meth users at 30 psi make over 400 but I'll keep with my 380ish and keep it safe. If I was running a lean ratio at 30 psi, I think I could have kissed my engine goodbye. It's not too expensive to run for me. I buy a gallon of denatured alcohol at Lowes (blue can) at like 15.00. That's enough to last me almost 3 weeks to a month. Mine injects after 8 psi, so I cruise most the time and when I need it, it's there. Of course gunning it every day you'll use up a lot more. Good luck with it.

I have the trunk mount from coolingmist and haven't a problem yet. Excellent item. I guess it depends on the installer. I do agree 100% on the safe running. But people get excited for more power. About that tephra mod? Anybody knows more about it?

I have the TTP Engineering Kit. I highly suggest both dealing with TTP, and the kit itself. They have installed tons of different kits, and have put together what they consider to be the best parts.

Look it up, call them, order it, and tune.
I'm hooked on meth.
