Disabling EBC Function On TruBoost
Disabling EBC Function On TruBoost
Well before I get flamed, the only reason why I ended up with the TruBoost gauge is because it was part of a package deal with the UEGO. I already have a mbc in my car so no need for this ebc. Anyway, had a friend install these for me and the wideband is working fine. The boost gauge however is not reading properly. It just shows a negative vacuum number of around -10.0. The gauge I highly doubt is defective because when I do start boosting, the negative value starts creeping back towards 0. If I'm in boost for a really long time, then it will go into positive numbers but barely. I set both A and B to off since the boost solenoid isn't connected. From asking around, people have been telling me the gauge should be able to display boost w/o the solenoid hooked up. Btw, the boost line is connected to the manifold line. Any ideas on what to do? I really don't want to have to go through uninstalling the gauge, selling it, then buying the regular AEM boost guage.
Please tell me why your not just running the AEM? I am nothing but happy with mine. It really help dial in the spool up with the crack pressure setting and taper is almost none existant. It's a win-win for the money and the failsafe is always nice to have.
Hook it up properly. I am sure it has something to do with the install. Happy boosting

I read on the AEM forums that if the solenoid is not plugged into the gauge it will show an error. You can plug the solenoid into the back of the gauge and leave it wrapped up under the dash or under the hood.
My solenoid is plugged into the gauge but its not hooked under the hood at the moment and the gauge gets its vacuum from the manifold.

yes i have it set to off and now the gauge just reads negative vacuum numbers and hardly moves. Right now I'm tapped into the manifold line for the boost so should I try somewhere else? Someone recommended tapping into the line running from intake manifold to bov?
