in the morning

do you guys warm up your car? and for how long? if you dont how high do you rev it to while driving til its warmed up.

i ask because i read that warming up your car is wasteful in gas and is useless. i still do it alittle though.

I usually start backing up when I see the needle move the slightest bit. I don't really boost till it almost fully warmed up.

The most important thing is waiting for the Temp needle to move.

I do pretty much all of what has been mentioned, I let my car warm up until the temp needle has moved at least a 1/4 then I dont boost until its completely warm and my oil temp has moved a little.

However someone told me that it doesnt really matter as long as you dont boost until your warm. I dont care though rather be safe than broke from fixing something that goes BOOM!

I start moving once the temp gauge moves , usually in about 2 minutes. The owners manual says to do this.

i dont have 10-15 mins extra each morning to warm up my car, id rather get those last minutes of sleep.

in the morning I usually start my car wait about 30 seconds before easing off the clutch and giving it a little gas... then i dont really drive above 3k rpm until the car is warmed up, usually about 5 mins

depends if the wife is in the passenger seat "ok that's enough warming up!" she says.

in the X i wait for the first bar to show up on the temp gauge and for the fast rpm to settle close to idle. usually 2 minutes depending on how cold it is.

Like most of the other responses, I wait for the temp guage to move above the bottom line. In summer, that only takes 30 seconds... in the winter, it's closer to 5 mins.

i just drive. after about 30 seconds of driving the needle moves. If i just let it stand still it takes a few minutes.

I dont have a few minutes usually so I just drive but stay under 2700k rpms. I think a car article somewhere covered this and said its pointless to let your car warm up before you drive it and that it will warm up quicker if you start driving around. As long as your not going WOT i dont think its bad

i start mine and wait like 2 mins i guess. and then drive off slow until my temperature gets up and oil pressure is ok. i never just jump in and go in the morning. espicially if its cold.
