The story is pure BS, the "Lancer" chassis (back then) were pulled from their regular factory line after they reached a certain point in construction and sent to another factory where they became Evolutions. You couldn't take a basic Oz and just upgrade with add-ons, even at the factory.

Con men are not only liars but cheap too. Maybe it is an 03 Evo and the only thing the guy did was add an Oz Rally badge to match his lamo story.

Show us more pictures and we can tell for sure.

 

If your in Cali a con like this can be taken to court, in this over regulated state you can be sued (now) for doing things like misrepresenting something at a yard sale! But then again, maybe thats a good thing!

 

lol well i love the responses guys!! i own a lancer 03 es and i can definitely TELL the difference between the two. i more so wanted to make sure that i was right in believing that there was no such special edition oz. my friend is going back to take a pic of the engine bay tomorrow and i'll post that up. i would go out with him but he's far from me so i dont have time to go myself. but ill keep you guys updated on this guys BS....

looking at that pic i can see its got adj for the headlights and the fogs that evos have. 22k is alot though.

 

they never made and oz edition evo thats BS. look at the engine for turbo, 4g63, luanch it for the AWD haha

 

and is it just me or is the headlight height adjuster and the gauge dimmer supposed to be right next to each other?? on my evo IX my dimmer isnt next to my hieght adjuster. idk about the evo 8 thou
