my car was acting crazy last night

well guys late last night i was leaving a friends house, heading back home. and i didnt get less then a few miles from his house the car started jerking violently and it didnt want to go faster the 25 mph in any gear, and would go past 2,000rpm i finally was able to stop at a gas station, pop the hood and check if maybe one of the couplers from the intercooler piping came off and nope wasnt that. cant be nothing with the clutch cause the clutch is a new ACT installed a couple months ago. anywho i called up one of my buddies and he came to help me out he had no idea as well what was wrong. we believe it possibly had something to do with a sensor or somthing. any guess what could have happen? oh yea also afterwords i was able to drive it somewhat normal but for some reason it didnt want to go past 5 thousand rpm strange i think..

No CEL's?

Will the car free rev in neutral/clutch in to the stationary rev limit?
Assuming you have a wideband did the car go rich or lean when said jerking occured?

How old are the plugs?

i had a cel prior to this happening but the car was driving fine. i thought it was just the o2 sensor because i had a problem with it prior. so i thought nothing of it. the plugs were just changed wednesday from my shop i had a 30k service done to it. when i toke the car out today it didnt want to go past 3500 rpm. so you guys are saying this could just be a sensor next to the throttle body>?

Yup! sounds like thats the problem... happen to me twice! Go and check the TPS plug by the throttle body. Make sure its pushed in all the way.

To see if it's a boost leak while driving (if there is a next time) trying giving full throttle just momentarly. If you see about 8 gallons of gasoline fumes in your rearview mirror, chances are it's a coupler You'll run rich as *** and it'll be obvious.
