Thumbs up Tired of drama-queens whining because their car is not 110% perfect?

I am sick and tired of all of this "EVO is a POS" groupthink going on here. The EVO is a well made car! No car is perfect, and someone is going to have a problem at some point in time, but I am already hearing too many people put the EVO down because they know some guy whose sister's boyfriend's cousin has an EVO and it had a slight imperfection in the carbon fiber wing...

Next thing ya know -- the EVOs suddenly have a "wing issue" and someone wants to start a petition/class action suit/campaign that will "force" Mitsubishi to have a recall and etc, etc, etc...

Yes, I realize that I am dramatizing this, but things have gotten to a point where people that have not even experienced the car speak of it as if it is overrated, unreliable, yadda, yadda, yadda...

Sarcasm and cynicism aside, I want to know the good things that people have to say about the car.

Am I just one of the lucky ones who happened to NOT get a lemon, or is it just the same 2% of owners posting over and over again about their problems?

While I only have 1500 miles on my EVO, it has been an excellent experience so far. My clutch is fine, my paint looks good, and yes my drivetrain is extra noisy -- but I LIKE it that way!

Let's hear some more POSITIVES!!!

Clean the wheels, then apply 3 layers of Zaino Z5 to them. When it comes time to wash them, the dust comes off much easier and the zaino will protect the wheel paint from the salt and junk on the road.

My car is running fine; I haven't even put the clutch on yet because I haven't chewed through the stock one yet.

<sarcasm> Oh nooo!!! The EVOs have brake issues!!! I have to sell mine now!!! </sarcasm>

Or -- you could do like I do and never wash the rims. I tell people I got the special order gunmetal rims with my EVO.

By next year I'll have the even more special order black rims -- HAHA!

I guess the break dust is a small price to pay for performance...

My car is silly fast, i love it, I REALLY LOVE IT, its noisy and the clutch is kinda a pain in the ***, but its basically a race car. I think if people want something that is more civilized they should buy a more civilised car. I had an IS 300 there are a ton of mods and it retains alot of its civility in the process its a great car but cant hold a candle to the EVO performance wise without dumping a mint into it. But if you want leather and nice smooth ride and a quiet car that is totally the move for you. EVO is just a monster, and u have to want to deal with its race car heritage if you want racecar performance. -end rant

My EVO has over 10,000 miles on it with no problems. Many of the owners of EVO are actively racing them. I do not feel a Manufacturer has responsibility to fix cars that are abused. If you race or drag race any car there is a price for the fun.

If you chose to thrash you car, learn what being an adult is all about, that is accepting the responsibility of your actions. At some point you have to stop blaming someone else for your actions.

The EVO is a great car and the anticipation of its coming to the US raised a lot of excitement. When I drive mine, it is still hard to get that smile off my face.

As my friend would say it all depends on ones "percieved value" of their car. And I enjoy the good car that I have.

I like what I'm hearing...

Everyone keep posting. How many people here have had ZERO problems? (like me)

Post mileage too -- might answer some questions for others...

LOL... correction... People are tired at the fact that Mitsubishi see's driving the car hard as a means to void your warranty. I know I'd be mad to pay 30k for a sports car and have a rule that you can't drive the car hard at all? What is the car meant for anyways?

Do you have first hand experience with that type of response from Mitsu? Or did you hear it from "some guy"?

Let's see, 5300 COMPLETELY trouble free miles, 20+ drag strip passes, ~300whp with less than $1200 in mods on pump gas, I'd buy another one in a minute. I LOVE this car! Maybe I can talk the wife into getting one?

I have 5200 miles. It isn't all easy miles. It includes 6 autox events. No problems. You can race your car and not tear it up if you know what you're doing Some people have a tendency to tear up ANYTHING they drive. The clutch is fine, the tranny is fine in most cars. It is a very low minority of people posting problems. I've talked to a bunch of Evo owners in my area and they wonder the same thing about why they hear of all these problems. Especially the clutch issue
