Car Moving In Neutral Problem
Car Moving In Neutral Problem
Hey everyone. Again, if you've seen my posts in the past, I recently purchased a 2006 Evo IX with 9,000 miles on it, and it's had so far a ton of issues. The main one I am concerned about right now is the fact that when the car is thrown into neutral and the clutch is released, the RPMS will drop and the car will start to roll forward.
Anybody have any ideas what it might be? There is also a noise in the engine bay that doesn't sound like a throw out bearing. I'm new to this car so I'm really not sure what to look for yet, hoping the dealer can settle this one. Paid enough for damn warranties that apparently are useless anyways.
Thanks

Have you adjusted the clutch yet? Sounds more like the disc is not fully disengaging in neutral. Is it stock or aftermarket?

It is very typical for manual transmission cars to move forward in neutral with thick trans fluid and cold weather. After your car has been driven for a while does the tendency to move forward get less?
Roll forward as if in gear? or roll because it sits in a slight incline? What rpm does it drop to when you let go of the clutch?
Like other said its normal for a car will to tend to roll in neutral. I've seen cars with engine running on nuetral on a lift and the wheels ar turning.
