evo 9 mr vs c6
[QUOTE=MR_Lance;6523447]no one has ever given any real proof that there are "issues" with the MR transmission. And it offers one huge advantage over the 5 speed and that is well, a sixth speed. Meaning I can cruise to work on the freeway at 65-70mph and not be reving over 4k rpm. Saves gas, doesn't run the engine as hard. People have trouble with the 6 speed because they leave it in fourth during road races and overheat the damned thing. Apparently nobody with an MR knows how to downshift properly. And as for it being the most common IX, sounds like you pulled this one right out of your ***. Show me any souce anywhere that says the MR is the most common IX. The only thing "cosmetic" about the MR over the other IX's is in fact the vortex generator and a nice little MR added onto the "Evolution" badge. Non cosmetic would include: HID Headlights, 6 speed transmission, blistein shocks, BBS rims, aluminum roof, hood, fenders, and gauge cluster. Get your **** together before you tell this guy what's up, because you really don't know much about these cars it would seem....[/QUOT

First FJF you have no class, and you are giving kingofmalaka the wrong impression of jerk a$$ evo owners... as well as drifting from the subject, kingofmalaka if u have to ask the question of wut car to buy then the evolution awd car is not for you... its a tin can thats worth 25-30k for an 06 mr.... i had a turbo integra and will never forget the first time a rode in a evolution(making wanna buy one)... so my friend it seems that the C6 corvette is for u....

FJF is RIGHT! There are TONS and tons of documentation siding with his argument. This is not anything new, it's BEEN KNOWN AND has BEEN PROVEN over and over again in the Evo community.
To the OP, just get your Vette. Its useless to WANT to like the Evo when your impressions didn't satisfy you 100%

vettes are sick and usually dont get the credit they deserve..it depends on what you want the car for. do you need back seats? do you need awd? vettes come targa top, thats pretty sweet. do you like v8 noise? vettes are very reliable and make power easy and gas mileage will be suprisingly good. evos are sick. awd is always fun and useful plus you have back seats. still have a sunroof gets decent gas mileage and makes great power.

If you intend to overheat 4th in sustained road-racing, then you'll have a problem with a 6-speed.
But that's it.
No other known weaknesses.
Except for retarded drivers.

I agree... there are too many retards out there who abuse the living **** out of the car, not just an evo but any car, and expect it to hold up forever.
i have a IX MR and my trannie gave out around 50k miles, it was the 5th to 5th gear synchro and fork. The 6Speed is a fun trannie, but some off the best minds in the buisness "John Sheppard" will tell you that the 6speed cant handle power....
Overall i say get the EVO, the community will not disapoint you......

Drive them. Think about the following:
Cost of Ownership
Plans for Use --> Meaning practicality, modified, stock, etc.
Honestly, do you think the answer to this can be found here at your keyboard? I think you should go back to basics.
Here you will be not surprised the answer will be Evo. I have driven both and I liked the driving experience in the Evo more, but that is just me. I still like the Vette, but I'm happy where I am at.
As for the Off-Topic Fun:
FJF - You are dead right. I consider use of researched facts to back up your statements a breath of fresh air.
