Modded EVO or new S4

I wanted to get everyones' opinion on this comparison. If you were given a choice between an EVO and about 5K to invest on it for mods, or you were given the choice of a new S4, which one would you take? I think that the modding potential of the EVO makes it a more desirable car, and the fact that the S4 has no hope ofe ver getting a turbo fin in the already tight hood. Even with a chip from the likes of APR, I can't see the power increasing much more then about 20 hp for the S4. Also, as someone who has a modded TT, it is very expensive to mod an Audi.

The EVO with about 5 K in mods would be very very fast and no doubt out run any S4. So the real question is weather or not the interior is with the extra 15K. The 5K invested in the EVO would include all gauges and instillation costs. I think it would be fair to say that an EVO with this much invested would produce something like 400 crank hp effectively maxing out the stock turbo. What do you think?

S4 is a bad *** ride but like you said its expensive to mod. I know that you have to drop the engine to put on a downpipe. I dont know much about the EVO's 4G63 but I know my DSM is fairly cheap to get decent numbers out of. I say go for the EVO if you can take the status quo hit. By the way is the EVO's 4G63 a 7 bolt similiar to the 2G DSM or is it a totally different engine.

For some of us speed is not everything. The S4 isn't trying to be what the EVO is. It all depends on what you want out of your ride. If you enjoy modifying the hell out of your cars and make them your own, than the EVO will take you further. The S4 will also allow you to run with the country club set and not get laughed at. By the way, your poll is a little false, because the S4 is available as a wagon, hence the S4 Avant. If I could afford it, the RS6 Avant would be my ultimate wagon.

The S4 is a very fine car, however one thing which I never liked about the S4's is the weight...3825lbs

No S4/Audi love here. I'd take a stock 2002 WRX over a loaded to the gills S4.

You guys are all crazy. S4 all day. I have an EVO, don't get me wrong, I love it, by far on of the hottest cars available right now, but, an S4 is faster in the straight, *maybe not in the twisties*, but it's a reasonable compromise, plus it got leather, cruise control, heated seats, not to mention a long list of features that make it overall a nicer car.......that's why it cost more of course. Plus it's pimp

i'd rather have a rally bred beast with 5 grand to play around with
rather than some ol' mans car with a couple of hoes.

I think the recaros rock. and how fun is it to drive in a straight line?

I traded my 2002 Audi A4 3.0 Sport 6 speed for the Evo, I loved the Audi, very much, but one drive in the Evo sold the car, now i know that the S4 is much more car than the audi I had, but if you really love driving a car, especially a car that loves to be driven, get the Evo. if you want a car the drives for you, get the audi. I was always fighting the Audi and the computers that wanted to do everything for breaking, accelerating, cornering hard etc. They are different cars, the s4 is pimp, i will give it that, and considered the s4 before buying the evo, But like I said The Evo is a drivers car! Nothing else comes close to taking a tight turn, hearing the turbo spool up and watching the rest of trafic dissapear behind you! If you love driving the crap out of a car.. go evo. if you take long highway trips every weekend.... Go audi.. that is my 2 cents from some one who had a car very similar to the s4 and now drives an evo!!!

I talked to a kid with a turbocharged A4 that he wanted to trade in for the evo. When I asked him why dont you just get an S4 he said they aren't as fun and way to expensive to mod

Mean TT, After the accident, you don't want to keep you TT anymore? What about the new '04 VR6 TT? I guess you want some hardcore turbo fun, huh?

The S4 and the EVO are two very different car. I'd take the S4 everyday and would like to have the EVO as my weekend car.

Hmm how is the S4 faster in the straights with more weight and less HP?? 00 to 02 is 250HP, unless ur talking about the new one which is a V8 which adds more weight(3925), and does 0-60 mph in seconds: Manual: 5.3 Tiptronic: 5.6

LoL if u add the driver plus any other mods/options, you'll be well over 4000LBS

Oh and the New S4 has 340hp
