IIRC the ammonia in cleaners is bad for the adhesive and not the tint itself. I remember reading that somewhere quite awhile ago so I could be wrong.

heat the rear window using the defroster, a hairdryer works to, just take your time and be carefull. use a razor blade to lift the edge and pull slow.

Just peel all the tint off plastic film part that is. After that is off use acetone on a rag or with steel wool and clean the glass with that DO NOT USE A RAZOR BLADE!

That's what you call cheap tint film even if you use amoina type cleaners that should not have happened, but to be on the safe side just use simple green cleaner which happens to the best to use,and do yourself a favor get it done from a professonal and ask what type of tint they use a good brand is lumar.

Like everyone else is saying, you definitely got cheap tint film. Go through a shop that offers a lifetime warranty against fading, peeling, bubbling, etc.

As for cleaner to use on tinted windows, I've found Stoner Invisible Glass to be safe and very effective.

very well said. i tint also....just as a secondary thing but my father has done it for over 20 years. 80% of tint shops use garbage tint on customers cars. thats why its hard to find someone to trust. like ryanw5120 said, tint for a good roll can range from $350-$550 bucks!. thats why shops use garbage and say its good.

My father tinted a corvette in 1997 and the cars 5% tint still is darker than night. i cant beleive it. thats good tint!

dont let scummy lil shops scam you, you got to find someone who cares about customers and will go the extra mile and use the good stuff, like me and my father and prolly alot of other good guys like ryanw5120.

your right, if you ever remove tint, use a cleaner with ammonia in it and it will help a lot getting all that adhesive off the window

You can usually buy precut tint on ebay for like 50-60 bucks... Its a perfect fit and the tint is high quality.

A friend of mine has used it in ALOT of his cars and he never has an issue with the tint turning purple...

But ya, I would definately agree w/ the others & say its just cheap tint.

I just recently tinted my car.My boyfriend bought some off of ebay and put it on with a buddy of his. It came out great. It was 25$. The price of the tint has nothing to do with the quality. The only reason it costs about 289$ at a shop is because of labor. The turning of purple is mainly caused because of UV damage and if you wash your windows then ammonia will also cause it to occur.

Now that is a bunch of bull...... You get what you pay for. I just tinted one of my cars and I used the best tent on the marked the black is from carbon not a cheap die that will turn purple over time. When they tent your windows you can request good film you just have to ask. By the way ebay
