UV rays from the sun causes this. This only happens with cheap tint. Get your car tinted professionally from a reputable person. $30k evo and purple tint ftl

Check to see if you have some sort of warranty on it. Did you do it yourself? If so, I recommend getting it done at a professional haha.

If it is a good brand UV shouldn't damage it but if you have been cleaning you windows with a normal glass cleaner that will start to turn it puple you need to use either light soap and water or a special cleaner.

I happen to be a tinter and what the problem sounds like is cheap film. The film I install is made by llumar which actually has a thin layer of alluminum almost like foil, except extremely thinner. This keeps it from ever fading or turning purple. A roll of this film costs almost 400 bucks thats why alot of shops use cheap crap.

There are glass cleaners that specifically state on the bottle that they don't contain ammonia. This is the only glass cleaner anyone with tint should be using other than using soap and water.

+1 I got some really good quality tints.. With a lifetime warranty of not changing colors, peeling, or fading, and if ever do they will be replaced for free.

I've been washing my windows with whatever glass cleaner I've had laying around for 2 years, and my tint hasn't changed color.

when it comes to tint, you get what you pay for. I am satisfied with my 5% all around, paid $289 out the door.
