G-Tech Pro....Is it worth the money?

Is the G-Tech a tool worth buying? Is it as accurate as it claims to be?

I try it but I don't think I will buy it. To get the accurate no., go to the track or dyno.

ive got a basic g-tech. its good for comparison testing. the timer is pretty accurate, considering the price

I hear that it's only as accurate as the info you input into it before making your runs. If you don't accurately account for the weight of the car (and people inside) your perf numbers aren't going to be accurate, for instance.

I have the Comp model, and I'm having trouble getting consistent results. I don't care much about comparing it's HP numbers to dyno numbers, but I do need similar runs to be consistent. I did 6 2nd gear runs recently, and I'm not happy with how much the results varied. Still screwin with it though.

I'm amazed by how accurate the RPM detection is. It seems spot on throughout the range, even though it somehow magically detects it from interference in the cigarette lighter output.

I agree with the RPM accuracy. I use it as a shift indicator. Useful when you're at the track. I like it.
Now if only I can get it back from Crazy Al Friedman
