Ice+Curb=sad Evo
Ice+Curb=sad Evo
So today me and my buddies went autocrossing and were out running for hours. Everything went great till we went home. It was about an hour home with very tricky road, but it wasnt till i was a block from home that I hit some black ice in mid turn and slammed into a curb. I got out of the car to find that the front passenger side of the bumper is destroyed and my rim is scrapped but strait. So I get back in all upset and as I pull way my passenger wheel starts vibrating. So I guess I bent the T-rod
. Today was one of the coolest days ever till this happened. I guess thats what insurance is for......
does anyone know good place to get a good deal on a Evo 9 front bumper, I like them more, a new T-rod, 1 new wheel, and my happiness back. Thanks
Drew

similar just happened to me. i would give your control arm a serious look as mine bent pretty badly and i was only going 15mph tops. i replaced my control arm and hub assembly with new parts from the dealer for just under $600. i thought that was a reasonable deal. got 25% off for mentioning evom.

thanks guys I'm going to look at that today. Ya Im probably not going to use my insurance unless its over $700. I have a $500 deductable and my rates would go up.
What's sucks even more is that it's considered an At-Fault accident. Your rates will go up on your renewal if not sooner. Doesn't matter that you couldn't help it. That's why I'm glad I live in AZ. Hopefully this is your first accident in many, many years and your ins. company has accident forgiveness.
My advice to you? Check the car top to bottom for frame damage. Whenever a curb is hit, frame damage is very likely. Check to see if the subframe has been damage. You can total a car very easily from smashing into a curb. Check wheel bearings, control arms, and the subrframe, and lastly inspect the frame.
