Do it right and built it before pushing it too far. The "if it aint broke, dont fix it" motto isnt a good one with high performance cars. You throw a rod and you could kill the head, turbo, and who knows what else.

Spend $4k to build ahead of time, or spend $7k after it grenades itself?

Scare tactics has always worked for me with my car, looks like I'll be building it now lol

Evodom: I just had my vendor ship me out the remote map sensor boss so that I can use this IM with my factory ECU.

A built block and head is a good insurance policy.

We have taken many a stock block evo to 500 wheel hp.
The customer has to be carefull and be able to tell if something is not right.

It is a chance, you are way better off putting in rods/pistons because if a rod goes through the block the costs skyrocket.
Mitsu shortblock for the evo 9 is not 1800 try about 2600.

I would say over 480 wheel, think about doing rods and pistons, if not just take your chances and put money aside.

Everyone wants to make big power, aggressively, but safely, on the edge but not over the edge. A large part of the successfull formula lies with the care of the customer.

Completely false. I am running a Magnus v5 on stock ecu and I believe several others are as well. It did take a little work to get the driveabilty correct but if you are taking it to a well known tuner they wont have any issues.
