The Sti is crank hp. The Evo is whp with the Unichip
Read under customer for the Evo..it says Unichip. APS states that they imported a US Sti motor AND a US Sti. They only imported a US Evo...not an Evo motor for dynoing.
APS has a Dyno Dynamics engine dyno and awd dyno.

That's my explanation

I think you are right. Unfortunately they are not too specific.
So is it comparision between stock STi's flywheel and slightly tuned EVO's WHP?
Or is it stock WHP of EVO and stock flywheel of STi?

EDIT:
Actually after thinking more about it IMO you are wrong. These are comparable numbers. The question is only why EVO did not do so well. Less octanes or what?
