11 grand evo
as everyone unanimously agreed, its a silly low price. but the idea of the dealer lowballing you is not outrageous. dude, its a dealer!! hello?!?!?
few years ago, i brought in a G35 to the dealer to ask how much they would give me on a trade. it was a 3 year old coupe, with just 15k miles, and in perfect condition. at the auction they were going for $19-20k... dealer offered me $14k, and after some bargaining, $16k.
he didnt even hide behind his motives, and explained the whole process. he needed to spend $500 to clean it, and market it. then he expected it to stand on his lot (and take up valuable space) for like a month, and finally, he wanted to make $2000-3000 profit on it. so the math was easy, and we were back at the $20,000 that this car was worth at the auction.
the worst thing u can ever do is trade your car in to the dealer. u r basically covering all his future expenses, + the profit he wants to make

Car dealerships are part of a dying breed of licensed criminals. One of the few bright spots of the economic downturn is idiots like the guy who quoted you 11K will hopefully lose his job.
but car dealers, like any merchant, must turn a profit on every single sale, no matter what.
i guess it all boils down to what degree of decency they go to.... meaning some can be total slimeballs and lowball you beyond any limits of decency, like this guy offering him $11k for an Evo.
11K is low, but...
what condition is your car in?
Bald tires?
Bad CARFAX?
Previous repaired damage?
Current damage?
Cracked Windshield?
Worn out clutch?
Heavily soiled interior?
Smoker?
CEL?
Modded?
If you answer yes to a few of these, then 11K suddenly sounds reasonable.

in addition to cleaning it, fixing it, and prepping it for resale, also keep in mind that this isnt exactly a Camry. this dealer is prolly counting on having to keep this car on his lot for quite some time before someone shows up to buy it. esp in this economy
.
I'd say sell it via private sell unless you are really trying to get rid of it. We are all forgetting something here. What if the dealer offers him $20k but the price of the new car is $40k. That doesn't seem like a good trade in does it. We need to know the final price of the car you want to really get the full picture here.
