don't go without chains or you'll be turned around.

Little hint, if your are sliding/drifting a turn and your pulling to wide towards the outside of the turn, just lightly feather your brakes once or twice WHILE STILL GIVInG it gas! this will tuck the front of the car in tighter to the turn and give you more angle to help pull tighter to the inside,

Tires are extremely crucial! Otherwise you may be doing 10mph the whole waydown the mountain. Been there done that. Summer tires blown on snow LOL

Snow tires arent good on pavement, get all seasons. I drove an entire winter on summer tires(just for fun) and man was that interesting! No accidents or anything, but it sure was easy to slide!

Just take it slow... Easy on the brakes and turns. Don't lock them up if you get into trouble pumped them until they stop sliding. If your daring pull the e-brake when initiating a turn and pop the clutch with some gas to get that *** to spin around. YEEHAW!

If you find yourself in very slick conditions, 2nd gear is your friend.

easiest way to drive in the snow...... is go slow. Its that easy, if you have no experience (no summer tires in snow)

Regards turning the abs on and off, I believe the abs is off when the ebrake is on. Meaning that you could grab one notch on the ebrake, not enough to apply any braking force, but that should turn the abs off if you need it need it turned off. Generally you should drive a fashion that gives you enough time to make decisions like that especially when you are in the snow.

AWD doesnt make it a special car. it's only helpful when starting on an uphill with no traction. driving on snow is just like the other cars. accelerate/brake slowly and don't make sharp turns too quickly. don't rely on the 4wd and drive carefully.

ps tell me how it was after your trip. if there's a lot of snow, i'll think of going this weekend. i like driving on snow and places without traction. haha.

I would not agree with the first statement. Driven RR wheels have the ability to gain traction to control yaw.

Second statement I do agree, AWD is not magic.
