People who have taken out the carpet from the trunk

I just took out the carpet from my trunk along with all my tools and jack. I think it looks really clean and Im sure it saves a bit of weight so I wanna keep it this way. The only thing bothering me is that there is some white stuff on the edges where certain parts of the metal meet. What is this stuff and does it come off? If it does come off what did you use to take it off and if it doesnt come off what is the best way to cover it up because i dont really like how it looks.

Could always get some touch up paint of the color of your car and just paint over it

If you take it off, parts wont be held together...leave it. Paint over it if you want to.

The way you wrote that you took the carpet it out it made it sould like you actually had carpet attached to the bottom of the trunk, did you?

All I had in my car was a mat type thing that I took out the first day I drove the car.

You can sand/grind/cut that stuff down to where it looks "less sloppy" but u need a good sanding or wire wheel to grind it down. While doing this you will make scatches everywhere and need to repaint over it and surrounding areas. So if your painting ur trunk floor you can do this. If you are not, then leave it alone.

Pretty much not worth messing with...
