Is your state good for modified rides?
you know if you bought the car from a dealer in new york with the wing on it, you shouldnt have to pay that ticket..
very strict emission's law. Too much traffic. cops hassle you for everything thanks to fast and the furious. auto insurance is very high. too many ricers want to race you. But the weather nice
Just some notes on Illinois, which I think is generally terrible for modified cars:
- tinted windows - no tint allowed whatsoever on front side windows; back side windows and rear, any darkness allowed. enforcement depends on location, generally lax in cities (add-on only), strict in suburbs.
- speed limits - terrible: max. is 55 mph on interstate highways near or in major cities and on other highways; 65 mph on rural interstates. police use radar, laser, pacing, and monitor in some areas by air. reckless is 40mph over posted limit, mandatory court appearance.
- emissions testing - yes, generally after car is over 4 years old.
- 93 octane; don't know about availability of other fuel.
- exhaust: any modification to exhaust that increases noise beyond level of oem exhaust/muffler prohibited. enforcement varies by location. again generally lax in cities, strict in suburbs.
- front plate - required, enforcement is generally lax.
- roads: absolutely horrendous esp. in cities. potholes, construction, salt during winter.
IL sucks.

Ohio is ok. Well till all the people got stoped street racing on the freeway.
Most the roads are here are not to bad.
Tint is 50%on the front windows and then any thing on the rest. my car has 15%on the front and 5 all the way and have not been pulled over. then exhaust is let go for the most part.
front plat is required and sometimes they pull people over for it.
you can find 93 at everywhere and e85 is easy to find. and know of two places you can get race gas to.
And there is no emissions testing at all
but dose any one know about Texas for modding. i'm looking in to moving south its between there and fla. if it was up to me Florida but its not all the way to to me

oh and i guess it was a bad idea going 170 on I95 coming from jacksonville at 3am
Texas doesn't seem too bad. The only thing I've been pulled over is for not having my front license plate mounted.
I just had it inspected with a test pipe, and I don't think they even looked under the car. The only thing close to an emissions test I've seen is some kind of pressure/seal test on the gas cap.
It may vary by location - but around here, it seems unless you're doing something stupid, they generally leave you alone. Or if you don't have a front license plate. I think they just do that though to try to catch you on something else.

Pretty much sums it up. Virginia is just as bad, except they don't use that retarded salt. Why does IL do that, anyway? Anyone else notice that the roads were the same this winter, even though the state was broke and didn't have money for salt? Makes you wonder why they use it at all. It doesn't help and all it does is make your car rust.

all of that is true though. never had problem with exhaust/mods, good roads, solid weather, 93 oct everywhere, but when i looked into e-85 could only find it in jacksonville (might of changed by now).
