Side Spat

Just recently installed side spats since we had 1 warm day recently. Did I screw up? There are gaps towards the front and where the tape is. Its not a huge gap but wanted to know if anyone else had a close up pic of theirs. I've searched other pictures but they're not close enough to see. But from what I can tell it sits right up on the body. Thanks.

My passenger side did the same thing when I first put them on.
I took it off and moved the tape down a little and it formed right up to the body.

I would just take it off and remove tape, then reposition the tape lower and see if it helps.
Make sure you use fresh double sided tape and clean the car body area again before you reattach...

Or: you could heat it up with a hair dryer just a little [not too hot], and try and push it in some..
good luck.

I have the same problem on mine I got from Rexpeed. I'll try taking it off and putting the tape lower. Derek @ Rexpeed told me to adjust the holes on the bottom of it to get a tighter fit. Haven't done that yet.

You should always take your time man. Little crap like that makes you automatically think, oh this will take no time, lol. I hate it when I screw up stuff like that all because I'm in a rush.

I have been wanting to get these for my LY, and was wondering how they fit, and how the install went. Is there like holes on the backside or underside of them, that get screwed into the sideskirt factory screw holes?

I would try doing like Jamie (SICK9) said, and take them off and relocate the tape with fresh 3M double sided tape.

Post pics when you fix it, and let us know what you did to fix it man.

Not sure about the ones he has, but I have the "HKS Kansai" side spats and they have holes on the underside that use the factory holes + the tape..

After I added the DAMD side skirt extensions, the screws go thru it and the side spats.

Let us know how the fix goes..

I haven't fixed it yet but I will post pics when its done. the piece comes with the tape already on it and there are two holes which you can use the screws that are on the factory side skirts (underside).

Lesson learned: take your time and dont try to get things done on a tight schedule.
