Question protecting your evo from chips and scratches

I will be making a one time trip next week with the evo around 1,300 of highway driving.
getting the evo shipped is now out of the question.

is there any way to keep the car's wonderful paint and headlights free of chips and scratches besides plentiful application of painters tape?

is that even a good idea for such a long trip?

haha i thought about just caking it all over the front end, and am thinking painters tape on the headlights might make the night driving a bit more difficult...

haha what about saran wrap taped over the headlights? it could work

Maybe try some clear vinyl and tape it in place, with painters tape of course, to your headlights. Just go to walmart and buy a yard for cheap. That'll give you plenty.

I have driven across country more than once since I purchased my EVO in the summer of 06. I debated buying the 3m clear bra for my car and now I regret it! The car only has 30,000 miles on it, but the front bumper looks like it has 80,000. If it helps any my car is Apex Silver I do not know if that paint is worse than other colors as far as chiping.

Try this stuff:

http://duplicolor.com/products/shield.html

Better than nothing and won't look as ugly as painter's tape, though I think the tape would give you better protection.

Good research, although I dont think this would give any protection against rocks. With some of the chips I have on front bumper 3M probably wouldnt have helped either.

just do painters tape and maybe 3m tape on the headlights. I used to tape up my car for long trips but now I don't do it anymore because I always in the wee hours of the morning and no traffic = no chips
